Two diseases treated with one pill (Juvisync-sitagliptin, simvastatin) ?
The FDA has approved a new dynamic duo which treats both diabetes and abnormal cholesterol. Juvisync combines a diabetes medicine called sitagliptin (Januvia) with a bad cholesterol lowering medicine called simvastatin (Zocor).
The maker formulated various fixed dose combinations so that the treatment could be individualized. As usual, remembering to take your medicine can become an issue. This first ever combination will make things easier ! The name Juvisync may just be one to talk to your doctor about if you have both diabetes and high cholesterol.
